Ushuaia, Argentina

The perfect DNA
for a
special competition

Ushuaia sits in a bay of striking beauty on the shore of the Beagle Channel (that connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans), surrounded by the Martial mountain range. As the main base for this competition, it is an ideal place, since the city has its own international airport, only 15 minutes away from the town center, and a 3 hours direct flight from Buenos Aires.

A past connected with adventure and courage, the energy and joy of the South American people, wild nature and excellent facilities for tourism: this is the DNA of the southernmost city of the planet.

With countless different landscapes surrounding it and numerous attractions for visitors, Ushuaia opens its doors to a fun, adventurous, touristic and sportive experience.

Towards the end of the map, where oceans meet and the earth runs out, Ushuaia by UTMB® will come to life.

Discover Ushuaia

Huge mountains, green valleys, streets that go up and down and little houses with colored roofs: you will certainly fall in love with Ushuaia and its Patagonian personality.

Land of explorers and legends, the first European expeditions that arrived here found out that the area was already inhabited for more than 6,000 years. From those huge fires that native people started to survive the cold, through the stories of discoveries and shipwrecks, until the founding of the city, in 1884, Ushuaia has a very rich history and culture to share.

The city harbors 90,000 inhabitants, the “Malvinas Argentinas International Airport” and an important port. It also offers a wide variety of quality accommodation and excellent restaurants, all near the town center. You should not miss the typical dishes, such as the king crab, the black hake, the famous Argentinian “asado” and the very much applauded fueguino lamb “a la cruz”.
In the city, you can also find soft fabrics made out of sheep wool, chocolates, crafts and imported items at a very good price (Ushuaia is a duty-free port).
You will have plenty of activities to entertain yourself. We dare you to discover the famous prison that functioned in Ushuaia until 1947 (now, the Maritime Museum) and travel in the “Train of the End of The World”, the southernmost railway line that exists. Or sail through the Beagle Channel and learn about the local fauna. You can also visit the museums that tell the stories of the ancient settlers and the first expeditionaries. Choose to take a quiet walk to the small “Laguna del Diablo” (“Devil´s Lagoon”); or tour the first “hacienda” in Tierra del Fuego, called “Haberton”. If you still want more adventure, you can explore the “Tierra del Fuego National Park” and other wild natural areas, such as “Playa Larga” and “Tierra Mayor”.

Enjoy the End of the World with Ushuaia by UTMB®! You will not want to go home…
